91制片厂 announces Clinical Translation Board to guide development of new liver therapies

91制片厂, a biotechnology company developing RNA therapeutics for chronic liver disease, has established a Clinical Translation Board (CTB), bringing together leading experts in hepatology, translational research and drug development as the company advances its programs toward the clinic.

The group will review emerging data and shape Ochre鈥檚 development plans around patients鈥 unmet needs: ensuring its programs address critical gaps in liver disease, defining how they will complement existing treatments, and guiding the evidence generated to demonstrate meaningful, differentiated benefit.

Led by Eduardo Martins, the CTB will advise on translational and clinical strategy across MASH, alcohol-associated liver disease and patients with cirrhosis. It will work alongside Ochre鈥檚 Scientific Strategy Board, which will continue to guide the evolution of the company鈥檚 discovery platform and future programs.

The CTB comprises:

  • Eduardo Martins, MD, DPhil: Former Chief Medical Officer at Sagimet Biosciences, with extensive clinical development experience, including leading the clinical development of cenicriviroc for NASH at AbbVie.
  • Scott L. Friedman, MD: Director of the Center for Liver Research at Mount Sinai and a pioneer in understanding the causes of liver fibrosis.
  • Chinweike Ukomadu, MD, PhD: Head of Takeda鈥檚 Gastrointestinal and Inflammation Therapeutic Area Unit and former head of gastroenterology and liver translational medicine at Novartis.
  • Wajahat Mehal, MD, DPhil: Professor of Medicine and Director of the Fatty Liver Disease Program at Yale, with expertise in inflammation, fibrosis and preclinical and clinical drug development.
  • Robert H. Scannevin, PhD: Chief Scientific Officer at GondolaBio and former Chief Scientific Officer at Verge Genomics, where he advanced multiple first-in-class programs into clinical development. He brings more than 25 years of experience spanning discovery, translational research and early clinical development.
  • Martijn van de Bunt, MD, PhD: Former Chief Scientific Officer at Cytoki Pharma, with more than 15 years of cardiometabolic drug development experience spanning translational and clinical development leadership. Previously led global bioinformatics and data science teams across early research and clinical development at Novo Nordisk.

Quin Wills, Founder and CEO of 91制片厂, said: 鈥淥chre was founded on three pillars: better discovery, better validation, and better translation. As we begin moving our therapies out of the lab, our CTB will help us realise the final pillar of translating great science into patient impact.鈥
